Intex above ground pools — San Diego, CA

Last updated: September 24, 2026

Many San Diego residents are surprised by the detailed preparation involved in a full pool resurfacing. It's not just about slapping on a new coat; it's a multi-step process that ensures longevity and a flawless finish. Starting with El Cajon, across the county, homeowners understand the value of professional work on their most significant backyard features. The initial phase often involves draining the existing water, a critical step before any surface work can commence. Following this, meticulous cleaning and inspection take place, identifying any structural issues, cracks, or subsurface damage that requires attention. The crew then prepares the substrate, which might involve sandblasting, acid etching, or scarifying, depending on the existing material and the chosen new finish. This preparation is crucial for optimal adhesion of the new resurfacing material, whether it's traditional plaster, a quartz aggregate, or a pebble finish. Understanding the specific environmental conditions of San Diego, including its coastal air and consistent sunshine, informs the selection of materials that offer superior durability and resistance to UV degradation and water chemistry fluctuations. The aim is always to provide a beautiful, functional, and long-lasting pool surface. Call today to discuss your project.

What affects the price

Remodeling your pool is a custom project, so final costs depend heavily on the specific upgrades you select. Replacing simple pool tiles or updating your plaster is generally more affordable than installing entirely new decking, lighting systems, or automation features. The physical size of your pool and the current condition of the plumbing underneath also play a major role in the total bill. If we need to address structural cracks or upgrade aging equipment, you will see the project cost shift accordingly. Exact pricing confirmed free on the call.
